The Ontario Rheumatology Association had our 18th Annual Meeting May 24-26, 2019. This year, for the first time, the meeting was held at the Kingbridge Conference centre in King City and was considered by all to be a resounding success. We had excellent podium presentations and workshops from our outstanding international and national speakers, as well as interesting symposia, numerous networking opportunities and updates on both the Ontario Medical Association as well as ORA. The complete list of speakers including their bios is available via this link: ORA-newsletter-2019-annual-meeting.
Thank You Henry!
We also honoured our outgoing ORA president, Dr. Henry Averns.
Thank you Henry for 3 excellent years of leadership. Henry will remain on the board as the ORA Past President (2019-2020).
2019 ORA Rheumatologist of the Year Award!
Dr Arthur Bookman was the recipient of the 2019 ORA Rheumatologist of the Year Award.
The award was presented to him by Dr Dana Jerome during the gala dinner Saturday night. We were delighted to honour him for his enormous contribution to Ontario Rheumatology.
Walk for Arthritis
The annual Walk for Arthritis was held on Saturday and raised more than $10,000 for Arthritis Research! Thank you to all who supported this important event. The Arthritis Society has committed to giving $5 million dollars over 5 years to fund ground-breaking research into personalized medicine for pediatric rheumatology.
2020 Meeting
With the success of the meeting at our new location we are planning to have the 2020 meeting at Kingbridge conference centre again, next year on April 17-19, 2020.
We hope to see you in 2020
