Locums, Community Elective Program & Third Party Payers Update

Jane Purvis • Edition: Fall 2018

Locums available!

Do you want to take some time off from your practice but don’t want to leave things unattended? The ORA is providing a locum service where you can post your dates and then a rheumatologist looking to do a locum will be able to reach out to you to see if they can work in your office during your absence. Short and long term locum requests are accepted so send in your dates today by clicking here

Community elective program

The ORA has 5 community elective sites up and running across the province for those residents looking to do their community electives. These are organized through the ORA and the Rural Ontario Medicine Program and are approved by the Royal College. Apply for an elective here

Third Party Payers

The ORA’s Third Party Payer committee, along with the CRA is continuing to promote the concept of national criteria for the initiation and renewal of biologics regardless of province or payer. We are working with the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA), the Arthritis Society, the Canadian Arthritis Patient Alliance (CAPA)  and the panCanadian Pharamceutical Alliance (pCPA) on this important issue
