Welcome to the ORA Fall newsletter. I hope you all had an enjoyable summer. It may have seemed quiet here but as you can see from our article contributors, the ORA has been very active. There have been some interesting as well as concerning developments, so please take the time to read the updates.
The Communications Committee has been busy recently. In addition to publishing the quarterly newsletters to keep you informed of our activities and new developments, we have sent out emails to provide important time-sensitive information. The website was updated to make it more secure. Furthermore, we have been revising the EAP forms to keep up with new available medications.
Did you know the ORA created the EAP forms for biologics? We own, maintain and frequently update the forms. In fact, you may have noticed very recent changes to the Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, and Ankylosing Spondylitis forms. We are the sole official source of the EAP forms. Please visit our website, ontariorheum.ca, whenever you need the latest forms.
We also have a large project planned for the upcoming year! Have you heard of Expression Engine? Probably not. It is the platform our website is built on. This platform is now getting out-of-date. We plan to migrate our website to WordPress which is now the most popular web publishing platform. At the same time, we are planning for more interactive content including a member’s forum. Stay tuned for more details.
As always if you have something you wish to contribute, please contact our editor Sandy Kennedy at admin@ontariorheum.ca.
Warmest regards,
Dr. Felix Leung,
Chair, ORA Communications Committee
