Sad news of Dr. Hugh Smythe’s passing  on October 14, 2012 was received today. Dr. Smythe was an internationally known rheumatologist based at the University of Toronto who helped to guide the Division of Rheumatology to the enviable position it enjoys today and he helped train many of the rheumatologists practicing in Canada and throughout the world.
