New Feature on SADIE: The Exceptional Access Program Digital Assistant – Now With Delegates!

The Ministry of Health continues to modernize the Exceptional Access Program (EAP) and transition away from fax-based processes by December 31, 2021.

As the next major step forward, you can now assign delegates in SADIE who can create and submit your requests to the EAP. The new delegate role allows you to focus on direct patient care.

You can still set up designates, who can prepare EAP requests for you to review and submit. Since adding this capability last year, the use of SADIE has increased by 60%. Prescribers who use SADIE once continuing to use it for all of their EAP requests.

Instructions for setting up designates and delegates are available on the Training Aids page at www.ontario.ca/SADIE.

Sincerely,

David Schachow
Director, Drug Programs Delivery Branch
