Terms of Reference:

  • To engage government at all levels and represent the ORA in its efforts to advocate for policies that are in the best interest of patient care
  • The government bodies include and not limited to: Health Canada, Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, Canadian Agency for Drug Technology and Health, Patented Medicine Prices Review Board, Pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance, Exceptional Access Program, Ontario Public Drug Program, Multi-Stakeholder Committee on Drug Shortages. And the various sub committees attached to these groups
  • The GRC is to establish a positive and constructive working relationship with government policy makers to help establish policies that are in the best interest of Canadian patients
  • The GRC will take the concerns and recommendations of ORA members to government policy makers
  • The GRC will communicate to ORA members the results of meetings regarding the concerns and recommendations that have been identified
  • The GRC will inform members of policy directions and any changes in policies being considered by the various government bodies
  • The GRC will develop position papers addressing policy issues with appropriate input from ORA members
  • Membership: Academic Rheumatologist, Community Rheumatologist, Private Payer and EAP representatives, Executive Director
